Problem Gambling: Have the Conversation

March serves as National Problem Gambling Awareness Month. The National Council on Problem Gambling, the Missouri Alliance to Curb Problem Gambling and the Missouri Lottery are encouraging all retailers, players, friends, family and loved ones who know someone who might have a problem with gambling to “Have the Conversation.”

Seventeen years ago this March, FREE help for problem gamblers and their loved ones became available in Missouri through the Bets Off program. When calling 1-888-BETSOFF (1-888-238-7633), callers speak with licensed professionals who can connect them with free help through the Missouri Department of Mental Health and with services like the Missouri Lottery’s Self-Exclusion Program, among others.
